Superimposing yourself onto a different background is easy.
The websites and apps we looked at in the Tech it Easy lecture or workshop are:
- Remove.BG
- Pixabay
- Pixlr
First of all, here are the two videos demonstrating how to use a mobile phone to (1) remove the background and then (2) add a new background:
And the series of videos walking through the whole process on a computer:
Here’s how to do the same, but using the tools on a Windows 10 PC instead of Pixlr. It also shows the process of dragging the image into Remove.BG instead of clicking ‘upload’.
On a Mac
It’s the same process as in the first video, except for the method of taking the photograph. Here’s how to do that:
- Take a photo using Photo Booth
- Click the upload icon and add to photos
- Find your picture in your Photos folder
- Then follow the instructions in the above video
On an iPad
Follow the first video – except for…
- Take a photo on the iPad camera (you’ll find that picture in your photos)
- Process it in Remove.BG and save the image
- Use Safari for Pixlr
- On Pixlr, choose file, then < to browse for your images to use. Look in “Recents” (iPad makes it difficult to find so you might need to search)
- Then follow the procedure in the above video
